Course Overview

Approximately 1,000 people in the US and Canada are accidentally shot by hunters every year and just under a hundred of those accidents are fatalities. This is why we've created this course, to help you to become a Certified Hunter Safety Instructor.

This course will give you the proper knowledge to become a Certified Hunter Safety Instructor and to share with students who have a common interest in Hunter Safety.

Course Syllabus

HS01: Introduction, Attitude and Behavioral Development - Know some warnings, the Author's Interest, Thoughts and History, Firing Firearms, Some Advice about Hunting, Parents' Influence, Teamwork, Hunting Friends, Kids Improving Their Hunting Skill, Kids' Attitude, Kids Showing Respect, Fitness, Recovery, Strength Levels, and the Need for Water and Sports Drinks.
HS02: General Health, Infections Diseases and Other Controls - Understand the Good Health Habits, Staying in Shape, Flu and Other Diseases, Human Blood Infectious Diseases, Chronic Wasting Disease, Lead in Meat Risk, Animal Meat Containing Harmful Bacteria, Critical Temperatures, and Cooking Game.

HS03: Nutrition, Diets, and Hunting History - Learn more about Overweight, Advice for Overweight people, What Can Kids Do, Nancy's Tips, Modern Hunting, Quotas and Limits, and Hunter Ethics and Safety Rules Implemented.

HS04: Hunting and Hunter Safety Fundamentals - Learn the Fundamentals, What can be used for Hunting, How to Conduct Yourself While Hunting, Firearm Safety, General Gun Safety, Firearm 10 Commandments, Hunting and Hunter Safety Clothing Safety, Gun and Hunting Devices Storage and Care Safety, Transportation Storage Safety, Gun Club and Ranges Safety, Firearms Purchase and Laws Safety, Handling Game and Harvesting Safety, Safety When Attacked by Game, Tracking and Stalking Safety, and Trapping Safety.
HS05: Disabled Safety - Understand Wheelchair Accessible Hunting, General Disabled Hunting Safety, Wheelchair Hunting Safety, Other Disabled Hunting Requirements, and Disabled Trapping Safety.
HS06: Conditioning and Exercising - Learn the Warm Ups, Stretching, How Conditioning helps, Coordination and Agility, Strength Activities, and Cool Downs.
HS07: Firearms - Know the Types, Parts, Handling, Maintenance, Loading, Unloading, and Ammunition Tables for Rifles, Pneumatic (Air), Shotguns, and Muzzle loaders.
HS08: Archery - Learn the Traditional Compound, Choosing a Bow, Draw Weights, Draw Length, Height vs Draw Length, Types of Bows, Traditional, Re curve, Reflex, Self, Choosing Your Arrow, and Crossbows.
HS09: Misc. Hunting Devices - Understand Slingshots, Types, Choosing Your Slingshot, Handling, Maintenance, Loading and Unloading, Ammunition, Anatomy, Grip Styles, Darts, Casting (Throwing), Safety Rules, Optional Features, Carrying and Transporting, and 3-D Practice.
HS10: Game Hunting and Reference Section - Learn Varmint Hunting, Varmint and Predators, Organized Varmint Hunts, Deer Hunting, Hunting by Moon Phase, Other Hunting Techniques, Deer Hunting Regulations, Turkey Hunting, Waterfowl Hunting, and Bird Gaming. Know the Miscellaneous Laws and Regulations, Resources, Miscellaneous Diagrams, and Nutrition Resources.
